Det ser ut som att deras webbserver bråkar för jag får upp serverns defaultsidan.
Det är antagligen en hd-krasch eller databasproblem.

Får en 404'a som tack för besväret... Sidan dog redan under den tidiga eftermiddagen. Undrar om detta har med deras uppgradering att göra.

Märkte att den var borta igår, helt plötsligt. Kom till en annan sida när jag Googlade dem och klickade på länken och via länken jag har under fliken Favoriter så nådde jag en errorsida; idag så vill inte någon sida ladda alls. Känns lite konstigt att EB går ner för räkning just efter att de uppdaterat sitt forum (eller så kanske det inte är så konstigt?)

Flytt till ny Server..

While investigating to move the site from a VPS to a dedicated server something went terribly wrong triggering a server re-installation.

So what now? There are 2 scenario's

1/ Best case: Hopefully soon the provider can restore our server based on a backup they claim to have from the night before this happened. In that case we only lose some hours of posts. Our provider is not good communicator and I'm in the dark of when this will be done.

2/ Worst case: We need to build up the forum again based on a local backup from last week Wednesday morning (pre-upgrade). In that case we have lost the posts from Wednesday-Monday and all the work done since the upgrade (including the upgrade itself).

No doubt, EB will rise again, but when and how this will happen is not 100% clear right now.

Och ytterligare lite senare har denna information kommit:


So, the backup of the provider seems partly corrupt, but good enough for Shadows to recover all his graphical work since the upgrade (many hours of work!). But the backup is not good enough to bring the forum live.

We just ordered a new server (a very powerful dedicated server) which will become our new home. It might take some time (might be days before we have access to it) but that should make us run faster than ever.

In any case, unless Invision (the software company making our forum) can still do a miracle we'll probably need to use a backup from last week Wednesday to come back.

At this point I can't say if we'll go back live temporary on the old server or at once do it on the new dedicated server. It's probably easiest to go for the new server but that would mean we'll be down for some more days at least.

I'm already pushing to get the codes for the new server faster via email and not having to wait for the regular mail, but it's part of the provider process to do it via regular mail (to verify the address etc.)
