Efterskolen PLAY – we play, seriously
Efterskolen PLAY is a new, exam-free continuation school set to open in 2023. Here, the 10th grade can be used to focus on a topic that the student is passionate about - all through a playful approach. Our lessons will be carried out in Danish – however, English is also a great part of our school.
A playful collaboration with KIRKBI and the LEGO Foundation
Well ... why are we telling you this?
We know that your heart beats for playing with LEGO bricks - so do ours!
Efterskolen PLAY will be housed in Grindsted in the Municipality of Billund.
KIRKBI, the main shareholder of the LEGO Group, bought the former Vocational High School, and is now facilitating a thorough renovation and extension, so that PLAY can open in what will appear to be completely new premises.
Our continuation school is based on the principles of Playful Learning and Playful Practice, which have been developed in close collaboration with the LEGO Foundation. We believe that a playful approach to teaching and training strengthens motivation - and helps you to go far with your own abilities.
... and the collaboration doesn't stop there!
We have played, designed, and built (seriously!) with KIRKBI – and together, we have constructed the perfect framework for a continuation school with room for immersion, innovation and learning. This includes, among other things, a brand new PLAY lab with 3D printers, VR glasses, LEGO bricks, Mindstorm robots and game materials.
You're not done playing – you've only just begun
Did you love building with LEGO bricks when you were younger? Are you fascinated by games, creative experiences and objects that have been thought through in every detail?
At Efterskolen PLAY, we have created a framework for the perfect line subject for those who love to play around with wild ideas, and to solve puzzles through creative design processes and construction methods - we call it Design & Construction.

Hade varit lättare för mig att lära danskarna längdskidåkning och innebandy än deras nationalsporter handboll och badminton.
