CitatLEGO® STAR WARS™ 25 Second Film Festival T&Cs

In celebration of 25 years of the LEGO® Star Wars™ collaboration, we are excited to invite fans everywhere to develop and submit films to the upcoming 25 Second Film Festival. This is a celebration of fan creativity and expression, and is NOT a contest or competition. The objective is simply to showcase the amazing films that our fans create celebrating this beloved franchise.

How it works

•   You must be logged in as a LEGO® Insiders member to enter a film into the 25 Second Film Festival.

•   Every film submitted will be moderated for content based on the rules below. Films that comply with these rules will pass moderation (as determined in the sole discretion of the LEGO Group) and be accepted into the film festival, films that do not follow these rules will not be accepted.

•   The LEGO Group will respond to all submissions within 14 business days to confirm whether the film has passed moderation and been accepted or not.

•   Every film entered that passes moderation will be posted on the LEGO YouTube page or LEGO.com between the 4th of May and 25th of May 2024

•   The LEGO Group reserves the right to close the submission window early if we receive more than 1000 films.

•   Films must be submitted via the portal on LEGO.com/LSW-25 between 13:00 CET March 1st and 23:59 CET April 22nd 2024.

•   You must be 18 years old or older to submit a film. People under the age of 18 years old may ask a parent or guardian to review these rules and submit a film on their behalf. Everyone is encouraged to participate, including employees, friends and family of the LEGO Group, Disney Consumer Products and Lucasfilm.

Content rules

•   Film content must have a narrative or story and be 25 seconds long.

•   Tech Spec: Films must be 16x9 (Horizontal aspect ratio), 1920x1080px, H264 or H265 Encoded Mp4 file.

•   There should be no recognisable Earth-based language in your film. Star Wars and other alien languages such as Shyriiwook (Wookie) or Binary (Droidspeak) are okay, as are "mumbles" and expressions without words.

•   Submissions may be in any visual style, but LEGO® Star Wars sets and LEGO® Minifigure™ figurines must be the main feature. For example, a hand drawn submission should still feature LEGO® Minifigure™ figurine characters and LEGO® Star Wars sets, etc. You do not need to own a LEGO® Star Wars set to participate.

•   Please do not add a title or credits. We'll ask for the film maker's name when you submit, and we will add the credits on to the film if it passes moderation and is accepted into the festival.

•   Films must be set within the LEGO® Star Wars universe and must not include characters, locations or items from other franchises or include any 3rd Party Intellectual Property other than LEGO® Star Wars.

•   Only LEGO® Star Wars products may appear in your film. Please do not include any other Star Wars Toys or merchandise in the film, as these will not pass moderation.

•   Identifiable people must not appear in the film, with the exception of human hands with (without visible accessories) which may appear on camera to move LEGO® Bricks, elements, vehicles and LEGO® Minifigure™ figurines.

•   Sound effects must be taken from the 25 Second Film Festival Kit of Parts (LINKED HERE). However, these assets can only be used as part of your entry submission for this promotion. No other uses of these assets are authorized. The right to use these assets will automatically expire at the end of the submission phase of this promotion [April 22nd]. Except with respect to the use of the sound effects provided in the 25 Second Film Festival Kit of Parts for the limited purpose explicitly set forth in these rules, and the Licensed Music Tracks, no other uses are authorized, and no other commercial music, sound effects or performances are permitted.  Specifically, Star Wars and LEGO® Star Wars content such as soundtracks and dialogue / actor performances also cannot be used and if such images or audio assets are utilized, the film will be rejected from publication.

•   Any music must be taken from the 25 Second Film Festival Licensed Music Tracks provided (LINKED HERE). However, these Licensed Music Tracks can only be used as part of your entry submission for this promotion. No other uses of these Licensed Music Tracks are authorized. The right to use these Licensed Music Tracks will automatically expire at the end of the submission phase of this promotion [April 22nd]. Except with respect to the use of the Licensed Music Tracks for the limited purpose explicitly set forth in these rules, and the sound effects included in the 25 Second Film Festival Kit of Parts, no other uses are authorized, and no other commercial music, sound effects or performances are permitted. Star Wars and LEGO® Star Wars content such as soundtracks and dialogue / actor performances also cannot be used and if such images or audio assets are utilized, the film will be rejected from publication.

•   Films that are too dark, poorly lit or blurry will be rejected based on quality. The decision as to whether a film is too dark, poorly lit or blurry will be at the LEGO `Group's discretion.

•   Film content must be suitable for a family audience, e.g. PG or G rated, and will be moderated for suitability. Entries related but not limited to the topics below do not fit our brand values and will not be approved for publication:
•   Real world politics and political symbols, campaigns, or movements;
