This year at our three-day convention, Well-LUG introduced the LUG Olympics which was open to all attending the AFOL day. Each Event at the LUG Olympics had a competition and a casual version so everyone could participate and help find our champions league held on the two public days on stage in front of the public.

Four LEGO Clubs from around New Zealand went head to head, competing in a range of LEGO-related events to find which LUG receive the honour of being immortalised onto the Olympics trophy, an NZD $1,000 donation to their chosen charity and of course ... bragging rights.

This year's events were

10m Sprint - Record the fastest time over a 10-meter straight track.
Slalom - Fastest time to stack 30 2 x 4 bricks with one hand.
Shotput - Propel a LEGO brick ball the furthest using a contraption.
Archery - Propel a LEGO brick ball the closest to the centre of the target using a contraption
Mountaineer - Stack a set of bricks into a pyramid the fastest with one hand.
Relay - Move the most 2 x 4 bricks from one table to another by passing each of your four team members
Cross Country - Record the fastest time around an obstacle track.
Minifig Build - Record the fastest time to assemble five minifigures.
